STARTER AND BIN GRANTS

BizrecyclingStarter grants provide the funding you may need to get a recycling or food waste/organics recovery program up and running at your place of business. Funds can be used for purchasing equipment and supplies, or in creating the educational materials needed to educate staff or inform the public. Already have a program in place but still interested? No problem! These funds are for you too. There’s always room for improvement. Just need containers? That’s an option too. Purchasing the right containers to maximize your recycling efforts can be the most costly part of implementing a new or improved program. Let us help! Container grants provide the funding you may need to purchase recycling and food waste containers for the collection of these materials.

To apply for a Starter Grant Application, the grant must be accompanied by a W-9— PLEASE NOTE: In order for your application to be considered for review, you must first contact one of our consultants to complete your on-site waste assessment. To set up an appointment, call 651.266.1199.

Once we notify you that you’ve been awarded a grant you will be asked to fill out this Grant Pre-report form.

REWARD PROGRAM

For businesses starting a food waste/organics recovery program, the reward program will cover the cost of the first three months of collection services. For businesses with an existing food waste/organics recovery program, the reward program will cover the cost of the first two months of collection services after the improved program has been implemented. Improvements could include expanding from a food-to-hogs program to source separated organics, adding new materials such as paper towel waste from restrooms, or adding a new material like food waste from employee break rooms. NOTE: the reward program is only for adding or improving food waste/organics collection services, not trash or recycling services.

SUCCESS!

Business recycling programs succeed when management and employees are organized for, involved in, and committed to making change.

Employees – get management on board by showing how a recycling program can save your company money and boost employee morale.
Managers – identify a “champion” in your organization to lead the effort, coordinate activities, and keep people informed and engaged in the process.
