VHEDC Initiatives

VHEDC is working with local businesses to highlight employee success stories. Stories are published in Press Publications, circulated at area schools, and will be included in our next edition of the Vadnais Heights Business Directory & Community Profile. Feature your business by contacting our Executive Director for more details.

Fresh Paint, Inc.: Larry Zack

DuFresne Manufacturing: Dave Kuehl

Fairway Collision: Larry Evans

VHEDC Sponsored Intern: Eric Boerner, Structural Wood

Each year the VHEDC raises money through our Golf Tournament and Annual Dinner to sponsor local internships. Students from both Century College and White Bear Lake High School have participated in the program.  Some of the recent businesses that have hosted interns include: Structural Wood Corporation, Fresh Paint, Inc., Impact Group, Micra Manufacturing, Merrick, and IPS Worldwide.

Are you interested in a potential intern? Contact VHEDC Executive Director for more information.

VHEDC regularly assists in coordinating school groups for tours. VHEDC also provides financial assistance to make industry tours possible. Some tours we have recently supported included: Herold Precision Metals, Schwing America, MME group, Structural Wood, Innovize, and the Century College FabLab to name a few.

The VHEDC hosted a series of Community Conversations focused on dialogue about local manufacturing needs.  The event brought together leaders from manufacturing businesses, educational institutions, and non-profits.  We thank everyone who participated in this initiative. This webpage is intended to provide additional resources related to this important topic for our key stakeholders. Check back regularly as we continue our efforts!

Special thanks to all participants!

Thank you to Cindy O’Donovan and Julie Tschida for facilitating!

My experience at Structural Wood Corporation was unlike anything I have ever done. (In a good way) I gained real world working experience, and learned a lot about the busy production schedule at Structural Wood Corporation. The skills gained will be able to transfer to my future aspirations. I thank you for the opportunity!
