We are celebrating our community banks and the other financial institutions in our area with features about what they do and all the ways they give back and make the northeast metro area a true community!

How long has Tradition Bank been a part of the Northeast Metro community? How many employees?

We first opened the doors to Tradition Capital Bank in July of 2005 in Edina. We expanded our footprint to the Northeast Metro when we opened our newest location in North Oaks in May of 2018. We have more than 80 employees serving clients across the Twin Cities Metro area; 16 of which are based in North Oaks.

What are Tradition’s values that make it unique in its field?

At Tradition Capital Bank, we believe there is more to life than numbers. That’s why our experienced team looks beyond the numbers and seeks to truly understand the vision, passion, and unique situation of each of our clients. Our expertise, customized solutions, and strong network combined with the personal approach we bring to banking, is what allows us to do what we do best; build relationships, businesses, communities, and futures.

Describe the ways Tradition is involved in the community, outside of banking — ways that strengthen/improve the community.

Through Tradition’s Keystone Giving Program, we contribute our time, talents, and network, as well as a percentage of our profit to various nonprofit organizations which reflect the charitable passions of our employees, clients, and shareholders. Over the years, we have supported a variety of organizations that alleviate poverty, encourage children and youth, support stable and dignified housing, and provide access to financial services and education. For the last few years, we have been dedicated to reaching our 20/10 goal – earning a 20% return on equity after investing 10% of our net income into charitable endeavors.

What professional services does Tradition offer?

At Tradition, we excel at providing customized, referral-based private banking. We pride ourselves on being able to make genuine connections with our clients, vendors, and business partners. Because of these relationships, we have established a strong network of professionals and individuals, allowing us to make connections to help our clients grow in all aspects of business and life.
