MINNEAPOLIS, October 3, 2016 – DuFresne Manufacturing announced today that the company was a winner in the Corporate Image Award at the Minnesota Business Manufacturing Awards last Thursday. The award recognizes DuFresne’s work with 5 local high schools helping to develop manufacturing courses and provide career shadowing opportunities for students to talk with DuFresne members about how they developed their careers.

The awards event celebrating the finalists and announcing the winners was held September 29th in Minneapolis. Winners and finalists are honored in this month’s feature story of the all-manufacturing October issue of Minnesota Business magazine.

“We could not be more impressed by the example set by these companies and individuals,” says Minnesota Business editor in chief Steve LeBeau. “Excellence in manufacturing at every level is essential to the economic vibrancy of Minnesota, and we thank them for their extraordinary work.”

“We couldn’t be more proud of our company in accepting this award, “ stated DuFresne Manufacturing President, Robert Du Fresne. “Everyone at DuFresne has a helping hand in our relationship with White Bear Lake, North St. Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale and The Academy For Science and Agriculture high schools as well as Century College and the U of M Manufacturing Operations Management degree program.  Helping our community by making students aware of the career opportunities in manufacturing is our “Obligation” .  We need well trained, engaged employees and the students in turn need lifelong career opportunities.   It’s the best definition of a win/win relationship!”

The nomination process consisted of a 3-month period where nominations were solicited and submitted through the Minnesota Business web portal. Once closed, nominations were collected and distributed to an internal review team, narrowing down the nominations in each category to the top five. These top five are then submitted to an external judging panel, which consists of industry experts across all professional platforms.

Winners were announced at a September 29, 2016. The celebration was held at Aria in downtown Minneapolis.
