Hello! My name is Brooke Olson and I am interning for the Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation (VHEDC) for the summer of 2017. My entire life has been spent living in Vadnais Heights and I graduated from Mounds View High School in 2015. This upcoming fall, I will be a junior at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. At TCU, I am in the Neeley School of Business pursuing a double major in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management. Neeley is nationally ranked at #24 for its undergraduate program and its Entrepreneurship program is specifically ranked at an impressive #6.

In addition to maintaining my competitive nature and determination through the rigorous Neeley program and coursework, I am a member of the Iota Lambda chapter of Alpha Chi Omega sorority at TCU. In Alpha Chi, I hold leadership positions as the chapter Song Chair and the New Member Educator Small Group Leader. Alpha Chi Omega has played a significant role in my college experience in encouraging me to pursue my goals fearlessly and has provided a support system along the way.

My passion for business was sparked by my past involvement with DECA, an organization that focuses on preparing emerging business leaders by integrating applied learning and competition to improve performance. Through creating promotion plans, developing public relations plans, and competing in various business events such as sales demonstrations, I was able to improve my creative, communicative, and professional skills.

Looking forward to this summer, I am excited to be working with VHEDC to implement what I have learned and to expand and refine my skills. As I continue my career, I am confident that the TCU and my various experiences will equip me with the appropriate education and resources needed to accomplish my ultimate goal of owning and operating a business. Go Frogs!
