Minnesota’s unique historical contributions to care delivery and management, medical technology invention, innovation and entrepreneurship have earned it global recognition as the world’s Medical Alley.  In 2015, this leadership was recognized and forever enshrined in the Smithsonian’s American History Museum as one of America’s great “Places of Invention.”  Today, Minnesota’s Medical Alley is the world’s most densely concentrated and innovative medical technology clusters.  Come listen to Medical Alley leadership discuss the current state of the health technology community and what we are doing to ensure we succeed in a dynamic healthcare environment. 

The event will also feature a panel discussion of northeast metro area medical device manufacturers.

Kathleen Motzenbecker, SVP Medical Alley Association

Kathleen has over twenty years’ experience in policy and international outreach.  She previously served as Executive Director of the Minnesota Trade Office in Governor Mark Dayton’s administration, leading multiple trade missions and the establishment of three additional trade offices in Europe and Asia.  She also served as the Asia Pacific trade director for the Illinois Trade Office.

In 2015, the Minnesota Business Journal named Kathleen one of its “Top 50 Women in Business.”  With broad international and U.S. business and public policy experience, her expertise expands the value that MAA delivers to members by supporting their mission of influencing policy, fostering connections and providing intelligence.

In 2003, the World Economic Forum named Kathleen one of its “Global Leaders for Tomorrow.”  She holds an undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in international policy from the Middlebury Institute of Monterrey.  She also serves on the boards of the British American Project and the US Japan Leadership Program.  She speaks Italian and Spanish.  Kathleen lives in Minneapolis with her husband and one daughter.
